What sized tubing is normally used?
Most of our pumps are noted with the discharge size. This will be noted as O/D (outside diameter). When choosing your tubing you will want to choose tubing with an I/D (inside diameter) that matches the O/D of the discharge.
1/2" tubing is generally used for most smaller pumps except a few which except 3/8" I/D and a few that take 5/16" I/D.
3/4" tubing is generally used for medium sized pumps.
1" tubing is used for larger pumps and you will find that you will want to use a tubing that is larger than 1" for most pond applications as you will have a better flow of water and less friction through the tubing.
